Albert E. Nevins, Jr. is now retired from the practice of law,
having dedicated his professional life to the law and to serving individuals
and families in the greater Hartford community and beyond. He is the
founder of this firm and has not only served our clients well,
but also served the firm well as a mentor and dear friend. He has retired
to sunny Florida where he will spend some time golfing, sunning and relaxing,
which is well deserved after his commitment to his career. NEVINS & NEVINS LLP
will move forward with Albert’s example of a dedicated, honorable,
diligent attorney as a model for our practice.
Albert graduated from The College of Holy Cross, in 1959 and from Boston College
School of Law in 1962. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1962
and to the Connecticut and Federal Bars in 1964. Albert began his career in
Connecticut in private practice. Then, from 1966 to 1970, he was an Assistant
Prosecuting Attorney for the state of Connecticut. From 1970 to 1972, he was
the Special Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Hartford. From 1973 to 1976,
he was Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Hartford. During his course
of his public employment, he also had a general law practice.
The firm of NEVINS & NEVINS was created in 1979 in Hartford, when Attorney Nevins
formed a partnership with his brother, Richard Nevins. The firm maintained
a practice in the areas of criminal defense and general litigation. After
the retirement of his brother, the practice began devolving into a general family
and small business practice as would be expected of a solo practitioner and continued
as such until the firm of NEVINS & NEVINS LLP was formed in 2001 with Albert’s niece,
Attorney Kathleen M. Nevins.
